What am I reading?
I am reading a lot these days and scope and subject of reading is so wide, this is really exciting and fun. I am more focused on technical stuff but then picking up at least a title from pile of fiction on my desk is nice idea. Funny thing is; I am not on leaves and neither workload has subsided, but still as they say ‘passion drives you’…
So, whats actually I am reading. ‘Essential Windows Workflow Foundation’ (By Dharma Shukla, Bob Schmidt) ~ Bible of Workflow Foundation is the first one I started. Its exciting, its fun, I really like it. ‘Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code’ (by Martin Fowler, Kent Beck, John Brant, William Opdyke, Don Roberts) some people say; every developer must read this once. Ofcourse, I agree. Most of software professionals spend greater part of their lives fixing/amending/improvising existing code, thus learn science of refactoring is must, and thats the reason this is in my reading desk. A short, easy-to-read ‘Visual C# 2005: A Developer’s Notebook’ (by Jesse Liberty) I sometimes even read before hitting bed. Even if you are tired and don’t want to dive into any harcore technical stuff, this could be your buddy because of its simple language and flow. And, the one that I really love and cant wait to read as soon as possible is; Applications = Code + Markup: A Guide to the Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (By Charles Petzold) ~ as name suggest this is arguably the best book available in market on Windows Presentation Foundation, and since after playing with Windows Workflow Foundation for quite some time, I like to experiment with WPF, this is my best buddy these days.
Last, but not the least I am reading ever classic Crime and Punishment (by Fyodor Dostoevsky) Not much need to be said about it, its a masterpiece! a true magnum opus! kinda book that just get glued to your hands until you reach finish cover!
